So this is entirely unsurprising, but it’s still fucked up.
Segregating gay inmates in men’s prison has been upheld by federal courts to protect them and maintain order, though courts have ruled against total isolation or harsher conditions.
But this isn’t separation by sexual orientation for the protection of inmates, but rather a system of gross stereotyping based on gender presentation.
